NASHVILLE—Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Amedisys officials announced today the company will open a new executive office in Nashville. Amedisys, a leading health care at home company, will invest $2.5 million and create approximately 120 new jobs in Davidson County over the next five years.

“I want to welcome Amedisys to Davidson County and thank them for choosing Tennessee as the home of its new executive office,” Boyd said. “Amedisys will join more than 250 other healthcare companies who call Nashville home and add to the nearly 400,000 jobs these valuable industries provide in our communities. I look forward to Amedisys’ continued growth and success in Tennessee.”

The majority of Amedisys’ CEO Executive Team will be based in the Nashville office, which will be located in downtown Nashville at Cummins Station. This strategically located office will help Amedisys build pivotal relationships with important industry leaders and analysts and attract strong talent from the healthcare industry, including Nashville’s robust talent pool of health services professionals.

“Nashville is the place to be if you’re in healthcare, and we’re extremely excited to be opening an office here,” Amedisys CEO Paul Kusserow said. “Our vision is to be more than a homecare and hospice company—we see the future of healthcare as delivered without boundaries, in a home setting. Our presence in Nashville will help us engage with the leading health systems, health technology and health services companies. This will ensure we’re not only able to meet the current needs of our patients, but their future needs as well. A Nashville office is an important step toward our goal of being the leading provider of healthcare in the home.”

Amedisys’ care teams deliver personalized home health and hospice care to approximately 355,000 patients each year. The company is also a post-acute care partner to more than 2,233 hospitals and 61,900 physicians across the country.

“We are pleased that a world-class organization like Amedisys has selected Nashville for its new executive office and will be adding high-quality jobs here,” Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said.  “As one of the leaders in home health and hospice care, the company will be a great addition to the healthcare community in Nashville, which is an economic engine for the region. By locating in Nashville, Amedisys will be able to contribute to and benefit from the thought leadership and innovation that is happening across the healthcare sector from here.”

“TVA and Nashville Electric Service congratulate Amedisys on the announcement to locate its executive office and create 120 new jobs and invest $2.5 million in Davidson County,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “We are pleased to partner with the state of Tennessee, Nashville Electric Service, Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County, and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce to support Amedisys’ success in its new operations in Nashville.”

The Nashville office will open this month, with the goal of having the majority of the CEO Executive Team in place by October. Other senior leadership roles and a few other corporate team members will transition to Nashville by the end of 2015.
