Kitchen cabinet and vanity distributor to invest $9 million, create 88 new jobs

NASHVILLE — Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Cabinets To Go officials announced today the company will locate its national headquarters in Lawrenceburg, creating 88 new jobs.

Cabinets To Go will invest $9 million in the facility, which will consist of its national headquarters, warehouse and distribution center, East Coast customer care call center as well as retail space which will be used for training.

The company will also be relocating its main distribution center from Redlands, Calif. to Lawrenceburg, citing Tennessee’s central location and its proximity to many Cabinets To Go locations as the reason behind the decision.

“Tennessee’s geographic location is at the heart of the country, allowing businesses to connect to their customers faster. Our interstate system alone makes it possible to reach 60 percent of the U.S. population within an 11-hour drive or less,” Boyd said. “We appreciate Cabinets To Go for recognizing the advantages of doing business in our state and choosing Lawrenceburg for its new national headquarters. Welcome to Team Tennessee.”

“This move will allow us to capitalize on the strong talent pool in the state of Tennessee and to continue to build Cabinets To Go into the largest specialty retailer of kitchen cabinets in the United States,” Cabinets To Go President Jerry Burdock said. “Lawrenceburg’s central location also facilitates a more efficient and effective distribution network to the bulk of our customers allowing us to provide a much better service. We are extremely excited about Tennessee and the town of Lawrenceburg, where we will set up our 50th showroom location.”

Cabinets To Go is currently making upgrades to the 420,000 square foot facility, located at 3050 W.O. Smith Dr. Renovations are expected to be complete by this fall. Specializing in affordable kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, Cabinets To Go opened its first store in 2008 and has grown to 49 locations in eight years.

Local officials and the Tennessee Valley Authority expressed gratitude to Cabinets To Go for choosing Lawrenceburg for its newest operations.

“The Lawrence County community extends a very warm welcome to Cabinets To Go,” Lawrenceburg Mayor Keith Durham said. “We are glad to have the perfect building and available workforce to meet their immediate and future needs for warehousing, distribution, retail sales and customer care. I want to thank our partners for all of their hard work in bringing this project to Lawrenceburg, especially the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and our local economic development team.”

County Executive T.R. Williams also congratulated Cabinets To Go and commented on their decision to locate in Lawrence County saying, “This announcement is great news for the citizens of Lawrence County and for Cabinets To Go going forward as they get established and become even more successful here.”

“TVA and Lawrenceburg Utility Systems congratulate Cabinets To Go on this announcement to create new job opportunities in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee,” TVA Senior Vice President for Economic Development John Bradley said. “Facilitating new job creation is a fundamental part of TVA’s mission of service and we are proud to partner with Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to help further that mission.”
