Our annual Governor’s Conference is fast approaching and will be here in less than a week. Whether this is your tenth time attending or your first, here’s a list of helpful hints to know before you go:
1. The early bird gets the worm parking spot.
If this isn’t your first year to attend the conference, then you already know the parking garage across the street from the Renaissance fills up fast. Therefore, the earlier you can arrive, the better.
If rising before the sun isn’t really your thing, don’t worry, there are plenty of other parking areas near the hotel that offer various rates.
2. Where’s the coffee?
We will be providing coffee several times throughout the conference, specifically during breakfast and lunch each day, and the afternoon snack break on Thursday. If you’re craving a cup at any other point during the conference, there’s a Starbucks located on the lobby level of the Renaissance.
3. Have you ever had the chance to run alongside Usain Bolt, the fastest human in the world?
Yeah, we haven’t either. However, you’ll have the opportunity to run beside Commissioner Boyd, arguably the fastest human at TNECD, at our annual Governor’s Conference Run/Walk on Friday morning. Commissioner Boyd has run 31 full marathons and 45 half marathons. He has also participated in the “Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge” three times, which is a half marathon through Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot, followed by a full marathon the next day through all of Walt Disney World.
If you’re up for a challenge, runners and walkers will meet at 6:30 a.m. on Friday at the Skybridge in the Renaissance Hotel.
