Financial services company to create 200 new jobs in Louisville

NASHVILLE — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Avant, LLC officials announced today that the company will locate new operations in Blount County. The financial services company will create more than 200 new jobs in Louisville over the next few years.

“We thank Avant for choosing to locate new operations in Blount County and for creating new jobs in Louisville,” Haslam said. “It means a great deal when a company chooses to locate new operations in our state. I look to forward to building a strong partnership with Avant and seeing its future growth in the years ahead as we strive to make Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

“Avant’s decision to open this new center, create jobs and invest in Louisville will have a significant impact on the Blount County community,” Rolfe said. “There are over 77,000 Tennesseans employed in the business services sector and I appreciate Avant for continuing to grow this industry in our state. Thank you, Avant, for your commitment to Tennessee and Blount County.”

Avant.com is an online lending platform and leading provider of credit alternatives to middle-income consumers. The company also offers its technology solutions to bank and non-bank partners via its Powered By Avant product to provide an innovative digital lending experience to its customers.

“As Avant continues to expand the suite of financial products available on its platform and grow its customer base, we saw an opportunity to add another operations site in Tennessee,” Avant President Adam Hughes said. “This new facility will help support many of our growth initiatives so we can continue to provide our customers and partners with best-in-class services. Our leadership team conducted an extensive analysis of several locations and believe that the opportunities presented to us in Louisville will continue to move Avant in the right direction.”

Avant will locate its new call center in an existing 25,000 square-foot building in Louisville. The facility is expected to be fully operational by January 2018.

Local officials thanked Avant for its investment and new jobs in Blount County.

“I applaud Avant for choosing Blount County,” Blount County Mayor Ed Mitchell said. “The number of positions the company employs is significant and can provide a healthy career.”

“Once again, Blount County is proving itself to be an attractive place for companies to continue their growth and Avant is no exception,” Alcoa City Mayor Don Mull said. “The city of Alcoa congratulates Avant on its announcement to expand and create hundreds of new jobs in Blount County.”

“We are thrilled about this expansion effort by Avant and its commitment to this community with continued job growth,” Blount County Industrial Development Board Chair Fred Lawson said. “The economic impact will be felt for years to come and can only open the door for similar entities to consider this thriving area.”
