- Family-owned, full-line steel processor and distributor to establish second Tennessee facility
- Project represents an investment of more than $23 million in Morrison
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and McNeilus Steel, Inc. officials announced today the company will invest $23.4 million to expand its presence in Tennessee by locating new operations in Morrison.
McNeilus will create 55 new jobs in Tier 4, At-Risk Warren County as the company constructs a new manufacturing and distribution facility on West Maple Street.
The Morrison site will be McNeilus’ second Tennessee plant and will provide steel distribution services not currently offered by the company’s operations in Morristown. Upon completion of the facility, McNeilus will hire warehousing, sales, human resources, information technology, maintenance and management positions.
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is a family-owned, full-line steel service center. The company houses more than 5,000 unique ferrous and nonferrous products, which are manufactured and shipped from McNeilus’ operations across Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
Since 2019, TNECD has supported nearly 30 economic development projects in the Upper Cumberland region, resulting in approximately 2,700 job commitments and $797 million in capital investment.
