- Lumber wholesaler to create 20 new jobs, invest $1.3 million in Summertown
- Announcement marks company’s first expansion since opening in 2021
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Old South Wood Preserving officials announced today the company will invest $1.3 million to expand its operations in Summertown.
Old South Wood Preserving will create 20 new jobs in Lawrence County as the company continues to expand and build on its established operations. With existing facilities that include office space, a treatment plant, planer mill, post mill, kiln and lumber storage barns, the company is well-positioned for continued growth and increased production in the region.
Old South Wood Preserving is a Tennessee-based lumber manufacturer and wholesaler that opened with five employees in 2021 and has since grown to a headcount of over 60 employees following today’s announcement.
