Automotive supplier to create 80 new jobs
NASHVILLE — Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe along with Valeo North America, Inc. officials announced today the company will expand its operations in Smyrna. The automotive supplier will invest $25 million and create 80 new jobs in Rutherford County.
“It is always great news when a company chooses to expand in Tennessee, and I want to thank Valeo for its continued investment in Rutherford County,” Rolfe said. “Tennessee is home to more than 900 automotive suppliers and we are grateful that Valeo will grow this sector by creating 80 jobs in Smyrna. I look forward to seeing the company’s growth in our state.”
Valeo is an automotive supplier and partner to automakers worldwide. As a technology company, Valeo proposes innovative products and systems that contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and to the development of intuitive driving. Valeo has 166 plants, 20 research centers, 38 development centers and 15 distribution platforms, and employs 100,900 people in 32 countries. Valeo is listed on the Paris stock exchange and is a member of the CAC 40 index.
Valeo will be expanding its current facility in Smyrna, adding 130,000 square feet to provide space for new equipment. The company will increase volume of existing product offerings and also add new product lines. Manufacturing at this location will include front-end modules, active grill shutters, and in the future, HVAC products.
