The countdown is on. In exactly two months from today, more than 800 people will be in Nashville on Oct. 13-14 for the 62nd Annual Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development. We’re getting excited here at TNECD as lots of behind the scenes planning is well underway. From stage designing to session programming to giveaway organizing, our TNECD team is working hard to make this year’s event one of the best ever.
It’s all about “Team Tennessee” in 2015 and how we can work together to become the most aligned state in the nation when it comes to education, workforce, job creation and community development. When we take a collaborative team approach and play from the same playbook, Tennessee’s economic competitiveness is tough to beat.
Over the course of just a day and a half, there will be 17 educational and entertaining breakout sessions, plenaries and luncheons. Topics will include education, workforce development, tourism, rural entrepreneurship, marketing and branding, Main Street, rural healthcare, transportation, site preparation, tax credits and more.
Business author and Speaker Hall of Fame member Joe Calloway will keynote the Commissioner’s Luncheon on Oct. 13 with his presentation “Be the Best at What Matters Most.” Calloway will take a look at how top performing organizations and individuals are able to simplify their thinking, get clarity and focus on what is most important, and execute with excellence and consistency. Gov. Bill Haslam will give the keynote address at the Governor’s Luncheon on Oct. 14.
