NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and ABB officials announced today the company will relocate and expand operations of its Industrial Connections & Solutions facility in McNairy County.
ABB will create 227 new jobs and invest $50 million in Selmer, Tennessee. As part of the expansion, the company will relocate operations from its current facility on 4th Street to a new 120,000-square-foot facility located alongside the company’s recently completed 325,000-square-foot facility at the Selmer/McNairy Industrial Park, which received TNECD Site Development Grants in 2022 and 2024. In the new facility, Industrial Connections & Solutions will manufacture and distribute busway and bus plug systems, among other electrical products.
This project is the second ABB expansion announced since 2025. Last year, the company announced plans to invest $100 million and create more than 50 new jobs through the construction of its 325,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the Selmer/McNairy Industrial Park. ABB will begin relocating approximately 90% of its equipment and employees to that facility in the first half of 2027, followed by the relocation of its remaining equipment and employees to the new 120,000-square-foot facility — announced today — in the second half of 2027.
In total, ABB will employ more than 1,500 Tennesseans across its five locations in the Volunteer State following today’s announcement.
Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, with roots that trace back to the late 1800s, ABB is a Swedish-Swiss global technology leader in electrification and automation and has locations on six continents across the globe.
