Secure doors and frames manufacturer to create 70 new jobs

NASHVILLE — Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Allegion Americas announced today that the company will expand its Republic Doors & Frames operation in McKenzie. The secure doors and frames manufacturer will invest $4.5 million and create 70 new jobs in Northwest Tennessee over the next five years.

“I want to thank Allegion for choosing to expand in McKenzie and for creating 70 new jobs in the Northwest region,” Rolfe said. “Manufacturing continues to be one of Tennessee’s strongest industries with more than 300,000 Tennesseans working in the sector. It’s because companies like Allegion that our state will continue this manufacturing momentum.”

Republic Doors & Frames has operated in McKenzie since 1976 and was acquired by Allegion in January 2017. Allegion manufactures hollow metal doors and frames at the McKenzie facility, complementing its Steelcraft® brand and core business in the Americas.

“These new jobs indicate the continued growth and success of Republic as a key part of the Allegion Americas portfolio,” Allegion Senior Vice President and President of the Americas Tim Eckersley said. “We’re excited to expand here and embrace Republic’s long-standing history as a McKenzie employer of choice.”

With this investment, Allegion’s Republic Doors & Frames facility will be updating and modifying equipment to expand production capabilities.

“We are always excited when our existing industries expand and create new job opportunities for our citizens,” David Hamilton, CEO, Paris Henry County Industrial Committee, said.

“Nearly 80 percent of the growth in a community comes from retention and expansion of existing organizations,” McKenzie Industrial Development Executive Director Frank Tate said. “With this new development at Allegion, we are excited to see the company reinvesting in the facility and bringing more jobs to the community. Allegion has been a great partner for our region, and we are pleased they chose to reinvest in West Tennessee’s workforce.”

City of McKenzie and Carroll and Henry counties are representated by Sen. John Stevens (R – Huntingdon), Rep. Curtis Halford (R – Dyer), Rep. Andy Holt (R – Dresden) and Rep. Tim Wirgau (R – Buchanan) in the Tennessee General Assembly.
