High Quality Liquid Pigment Manufacturer to Invest $3.7 Million, Create 31 New Jobs

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with American Colors Inc. officials announced today the company will build a new 30,000 square foot manufacturing and research facility in the Gallatin Industrial Center, a Select Tennessee Certified Site. To support ongoing growth at the company’s existing Lebanon location, American Colors will invest $3.7 million and create 31 new jobs in Sumner County.

“Incumbent industry expansions are an essential element to help spur job creation in our state, and with nearly 45,000 Tennesseans employed within the chemicals and plastics sector, I am pleased to see American Colors add to that number,” Hagerty said. “I appreciate the company’s continued confidence in our state’s qualified workforce and for choosing to further invest in Tennessee.”

“Our increased business and additional opportunities have required American Colors to increase our capacity in Tennessee,” American Colors Inc. President and CEO James Oram Wible said. “We look forward to creating a state of the art facility in order to continue to provide superior colorants and dispersions to the composites and coatings industries.”

The Gallatin facility will produce products for the composites, coatings, plastics and agricultural industries and also include a research lab housing chemists and technicians. American Colors anticipates the facility will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2015.

In addition to the company’s Tennessee facilities, American Colors has manufacturing locations in Sandusky, Ohio and Shanghai, China to serve the company’s Asian markets.

American Colors is a manufacturer of high quality liquid pigment systems and intermediates specializing in customer-focused solutions to complex coatings and colorants problems. The company enlists personnel and couples them with premium production equipment and state-of-the-art laboratory instruments.

The hiring process will begin August 1. Interested persons can submit résumés to [email protected].
