$10.8 million investment in Henderson County facility
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today that Adient will invest $10.8 million to expand production at its manufacturing facility in Lexington.
Adient, a leading automotive seating manufacturer and supplier, plans to create approximately 200 jobs in Henderson County.
“More than 134,000 Tennesseans work in Tennessee’s robust automotive sector and it is encouraging to see Adient create hundreds of automotive jobs in Lexington,” Haslam said. “Adient’s investment is further proof that Tennessee will lead the nation in high quality job opportunities for residents in our rural communities.”
“Adient’s investment in Lexington is strong vote of confidence in the people of Henderson County,” Rolfe said. “I’m pleased Adient decided to expand its operations in Lexington and reinvest in this community.”
Adient plans to upgrade its Henderson County facility, install assembly equipment and expand lines of production.
Local officials and the Tennessee Valley Authority applauded Adient for its decision to create new jobs and expand in Lexington.
“This is wonderful news for our county,” Henderson County Mayor Dan Hughes said. “We will supply a good workforce and strive to meet Adient’s needs. This announcement today is music to the ears of people ready to go to work.”
