• Tennessee-based custom home builder to create nearly 80 new jobs in Cleveland

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Wind River Custom Homes, LLC officials announced today the company will expand in Southeast Tennessee by constructing a new facility in Bradley County.

Wind River will create 77 new jobs and invest $2.5 million through the expansion and relocation of its operations from Apison to Cleveland, Tennessee.

The new 92,000-square-foot facility will significantly increase the company’s current production time of 30 housing units per year as well as allow Wind River to expand into the modular home building industry.

Wind River Custom Homes, LLC is a Tennessee-based custom home builder that specializes in designing and manufacturing park model RVs. Wind River will employ nearly 120 Tennesseans as a result of the project.

Since 2019, TNECD has supported nearly 10 economic development projects in Bradley County, resulting in approximately 2,200 job commitments and $786 million in capital investment.

“It’s not every day that we celebrate a brand like Wind River, which has chosen to design, engineer and produce its products from right here in Tennessee. I am grateful to this company for its investment in Southeast Tennessee and thank its leadership for this significant investment in our state, Cleveland and Bradley County.” – TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter

“For nearly 10 years Wind River has been crafting our homes with a commitment to unparalleled quality, intentional design, and an authentic customer experience. We are thrilled to continue growing our company and brand with the construction of our new manufacturing facility in Bradley County. When we decided to expand into the modular housing market, we knew we needed a location that would be conducive for transportation logistics as well as providing a strong workforce for trade skills. We found the perfect combination right here in South Cleveland, Tennessee. Having grown up in the area, I’m excited to be putting down roots that will have a positive impact in the community, in both job and career opportunities, and in fostering lasting relationships with our neighbors and local businesses.” – Travis Pyke, CEO and chief design officer, Wind River Custom Homes, LLC

“A warm welcome and heartfelt thank you to Wind River on their decision to expand their operations into our community. Both governments have worked hard to create an environment that can nurture and sustain a manufacturing sector and Wind River is another step forward in our effort to secure the most diverse manufacturing economy in the State of Tennessee. Wind River produces a unique alternative to traditional housing that has the potential to play a significant role in solving our national housing crisis with plans to expand their offerings through the design and development of modular home design and construction. We look forward working with the team as they settle into the community and are excited to be some of the first to see their next innovation in housing.” – Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis and Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks

“Bradley County is thrilled to have attracted Wind River to our community. We are looking forward to working with Wind River toward a long and prosperous future.” – Sen. Adam Lowe (R-Calhoun)

“Wind River will be a wonderful addition to the growing business community in Cleveland. This investment will bring more jobs and economic opportunity to our area. I congratulate the company on its success and look forward to the bright future it will have in Bradley County.” – Rep. Kevin Raper (R-Cleveland)
