• Global medical device manufacturer to invest more than $9 million over five years
  • Expansion project represents the creation of 40 new jobs in Cordova

NASHVILLE Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Bioventus announced today the company will expand its existing operations in Shelby County.

Headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, Bioventus will invest $9.1 million and create 40 new jobs in Cordova over the next five years.

Through this expansion, the global medical device manufacturer will be able to meet its growing customer demands as well as add to its overall product portfolio, which focuses on medical product development around three segments: pain treatments, restorative therapies and surgical solutions. This year, products from Bioventus will help more than 500,000 people regain active lifestyles.

Established in 2012, Bioventus is a global leader of innovations for active healing. Today, the company employs more than 1,100 people worldwide through its offices in Tennessee, North Carolina, California, New York, Israel, Canada and the Netherlands, where the company runs its international headquarters.

In the last five years, TNECD has supported more than 70 economic development projects in Shelby County resulting in nearly 10,000 job commitments and roughly $3 billion in capital investment.
