- LEAP Report highlights in-demand jobs in Tennessee
- Report outlines workforce development initiatives to align education with industry
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A new report released by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development highlights jobs in high demand across Tennessee, including occupations in information technology, healthcare, engineering and production.
TNECD’s annual Labor and Education Alignment Program (LEAP) report identifies nearly 290 occupations statewide that businesses need to fill. The study analyzes key metrics such as median wage, online job postings, hires and projected job openings.
The LEAP Report seeks to aid local, regional and state policy decision-making and outlines areas for increased alignment between education and industry. These opportunities include workforce development strategies such as work-based learning, internships, co-ops and apprenticeships.
“We are excited to see the continued support of strong workforce alignment here in Tennessee, and the LEAP Report outlines additional strategies to help sustain this momentum,” TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “Governor Lee places training and education at the forefront of his agenda, creating tremendous opportunity for our businesses to have the workforce they need to be successful.”
The 2019 LEAP report is available for download here. The results can also be accessed through an interactive dashboard available here.
